What is Concrete Lifting?

Concrete lifting is a process used to level out sunken or uneven concrete surfaces. It is done by drilling small holes in the concrete and injecting material beneath the surface to raise the concrete back to its original height. Materials used in concrete lifting include concrete slurry (as used in mud jacking), polyurethane foam (as used in poly leveling/poly jacking), or occasionally a different material.

What is Concrete Leveling? Is it different from Concrete Lifting?

Concrete leveling and concrete lifting usually mean the same thing – injecting material underneath an existing concrete surface to bring that surface “level.” However, when the concrete is outside, “level” is usually not the goal – outdoor concrete surfaces should gradually slope away from the home or building they support so as to drain water away from that structure.

In some circumstances, the term “concrete leveling” refers to the process of actually leveling off newly poured concrete. At Intelligent Concrete Lifting & Stabilization, we focus on lifting/”leveling” existing concrete.
